![]() Just to be safe I switched it over to the High Performance setting and checked the advanced options for the USB settings to ensure it didnt disable them. I had a custom profile that was pretty much the exact copy of the High Performance profile that leaves everything on. I also did not fly with FSCloud.įirst thing I did with your initial reply was check the Power Management. I came back after about 20 minutes and everything still worked. I managed to complete a full flight from CYVR (Vancouver, BC, CA) to KSEA (Seattle, WA) and left the game running (as before) with the aircraft parked. This would be the first time I experienced the problem. I tab between windows on a regular basis (FSX is in windowed mode, not 'Full Screen') and have never had the issue even before I set up all controls to run through FSUIPC (which has been the case for some years now).ĭid your controls ever work properly or has this issue been a problem since day one? ![]() I have also heard about the problem being created (seemingly very mysteriously) by some combination or repitition of as you describe. Not all USB ports have this but you will need to check them all to see which ones do and which ones do not. I admit this may not be the problem but it would be simple to eliminate it by taking a few minutes to set your Control Panel, select Device Manager then go to each USB controller (expand the menu to show each individual one), right click and select 'Properties' - for those that have a 'Power Mangement' tab select this and un-check the 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' box. And, not all USB ports are configured to allow them to go to sleep. Well, I certainly am not one to try to explain the idiosycracies of Microsoft but USB ports going to sleep (in spite of seemingly being "in use") has been the issue in the problem you describe. Only happens in Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition. Then my Mouse and Keyboard would constantly be going out too if this was the case and the USB fan I have plugged in stayed on the whole time. I can see it for the first time when I lost the USB connection, but mid-flight while I am actively switching windows (Flight Planning) and using said USB electronics? That doesn't make sense. Origineel geplaatst door Providence:That's not the problem. (Never one or the other) This is always confirmed by checking the Controls settings where the devices are no longer listed.ĭoes anyone know of a fix? Or are we just waiting for salvation? The devices used on my machine have been:Īll of them lose functionality at seemingly random times and all at once. Searching through Google I found old 2014 threads and replies from Jan of this year (Though couldn't find them here, don't know why Search wasn't cooperating.) so this problem is not isolated, nor does it appear to have been resolved previously. Leading me to believe it is definitely Client-related. Restarting the client (but not un-plugging and re-plugging in the devices) fixes the issue temporarily. When it happened the day before it occured while I was away from the computer and the aircraft (PMDG's Jetstream 4100) was parked and shut down at an airport. ![]() This last time it happened I lost controls while canceling ATC following with FSCloud. While experiencing this problem I have been using the latest FSUIPC and FSCloud. There COULD be something to do with Alt+Tab'ing out of the game or using 3rd party programs. There is no warning, no message, it just stops working. When you start up Flight Simulator it recognizes all USB devices but seemingly at random it will stop recognizing them and you will only be left with the Mouse Yoke for flight controls. ![]()
